Connect once, interconnect over IP
Standing up IP interconnection the traditional way means a separate build with every partner — commercial terms, technical turn-up, testing — repeated for each relationship, and often a fair amount of network engineering on your side. MoosePOI replaces that with a single connection to a shared Point of Interconnection. Bring it up once, and you can interconnect with your partners over IP without re-architecting the network you already run.
Three things define how it works.
1. IP interconnection with your partners
Through MoosePOI you establish IP voice interconnection with your interconnection partners — one connection that reaches them all, instead of a separate build for every relationship.
Some services — a dedicated cross-connect, concierge turn-up — carry connection fees. Those are connection charges for a facility or service, never charges on your traffic. Talk to us if you want a dedicated or white-glove setup.
2. Signed traffic only
Every call that crosses MoosePOI carries a valid STIR/SHAKEN signature, and MoosePOI verifies that signature inline, chained to the STI-CA roots. We verify; we never sign or issue certificates — MoosePOI is an interconnect, not an originating switch.
Because unsigned traffic doesn’t cross, every participant can trust that what they receive came from an authenticated, attributable source. Combined with authenticated participant identity, every call is tied to a known participant.
3. Inbound control
This is the part most carriers can’t get anywhere else.
As a terminating carrier, you can see who’s reaching you over your MoosePOI interconnect:
- the sending participant’s identity,
- their OCN,
- and the STIR/SHAKEN verification status of their traffic.
And you can decline traffic you don’t want — down to a specific carrier or a specific certificate. We deliberately say decline, not block: you’re declining traffic over your MoosePOI interconnect. The call may still complete elsewhere by another route. MoosePOI is neutral tooling that executes your policy — we don’t make calls disappear from the network, we let you govern what crosses your interconnect with us.
Basic inbound control is included with every connection. It’s table stakes, not an upsell.
No re-platforming required
MoosePOI is designed to slot into the network you already have. Standard SIP interfaces, and a clean, self-service onramp over a rigorous trust foundation — authenticated participants, inline verification, per-participant attribution. The foundation is deliberately strict; getting connected and managing your policy is built to be quick. Bring your STIR/SHAKEN-signed traffic, authenticate, and you’re interconnected.
